Hi FRBers!  I don't actually know how far I ran but I'll say 3.  Haven't worn a running watch in nearly 2 years now and haven't been running much lately, but I'd like to start running more and writing more.  I'll probably mostly write in my personal blog but I'll link here.

Ran an easy 3 miles and biked Ali up the hill to preschool.

Pulled Ali to school in the bike trailer and continued on for 9 mile bike ride around Devil's Thumb and Shanahan Ridge with Kelsie.  Her fluffy hair looks awesome blowing in the wind.  We saw a blue jay teasing a squirrel.

20 mile Mt. Bike ride around Marshall Mesa.  I was a little ambitious thinking I had the energy to do this ride.  The wind chewed me up and spit me out.  There were parts that were quite enjoyable though.  I got a new ride last week and it is smooth and fast!!

Wow, what a beautiful place I live.  Ran nice and easy around this lake.  Clean air after a heavy wind storm yesterday.Harlow Platts Park

Peaceful snowy morning. I can feel my energy rising with my ferritin level.  Lightheadedness and fatigue is diminishing. My tight achilles is relaxing and my back loved that professional massage I got last night. Yay for healing!

Energy still low from my puking yesterday, plus Aaron was out of town so no one to watch Kelsie.

Feeling better every day! No lightheadedness!

Saw a blind man this morning walking his dog.  I've seen him a handful of times before and he is always friendly.  He is a sweet, gentle looking man.  His eyes are always wide open but they look black.  I usually say something before I get too close so he's not startled, but for some reason I didn't speak up first this morning.  As I approached, I nimbly pranced the outer edge of the path opposite his side and as I got within a few feet of him, he let out an enthusiastic "Good Morning!" with a smile like if he knew me.  I greeted him back and couldn't help but smile at his happiness.  He is BLIND yet completely and utterly stoked to be alive at 7 a.m. on a Saturday.  What would that be like to be completely blind?  Hard to imagine.  As I pranced off beyond him I suddenly felt overwhelmingly grateful for my eyes.  I'm grateful for my sight.

I seriously did not run at all this week until today.  Lame, I know.  But there was this storm and lots of snow and ice and such. Weak, I know.

2.5 mile warm up including strides, 4X400 on the track, jogging in between each, 2 mile cool down

My first "workout" in FOR-EV-ER.  I have my work cut out for me in order to get back into racing shape! My 400s were 87, 83, 84, 81 and I was working hard near the end!  Its hard to believe a couple of years ago I ran a 15K in 5:22 pace and now even getting close to that pace and trying to hold it for a quarter of a mile sends me into oxygen debt.  Its official: I am currently OUT OF SHAPE.  I already knew that of course but seeing it manifest so drastically in a workout is eye opening. The good news is that I am already pretty close to my healthy racing weight, so most of the work will be in strengthening my heart, lungs, and legs.

I've been thinking about racing again. Thinking that maybe if I at least have a GOAL race in mind, it might help motivate me to start doing workouts and running every day again.  But the Bolder Boulder is too soon and too long of a race to get fit for in time.  I need something shorter.  The past few summers Aaron and the kids have done this Boulder summer race series including a 3K, 2K and Mile. In the past I've always cheered from the sidelines and trained for longer races but this summer I think I'll race too!  Besides, what better way to come back to fast running than to run short, and FAST?  The first race in the series is the West End 3K on June 5th.  Here we go again! Time to crack the whip!

The longer I live in Boulder, the more Boulderite I become.  Right now I am eating cooked buckwheat with sweet potatoes, chia seeds gelled in coconut milk, and hemp seeds sprinkled on top.  ALL certified Organic, Non-GMO. Yum.

On my run I wore my Boston 2011 shirt and someone commented "nice shirt!" as we passed each other.  I guess wearing any Boston memorabilia is making a statement now.  I'm glad Americans are turning something horrific into a strong slap in terrorism's face.

Warm up, 4X400, 4X200 at the track, cool down back home.  A little better faster than last week.  88, 85, 82, 79.  200s were 37, 34, 37, 34.  Enjoying the journey back into shape.

Went on a 3 mile hike with Bre.  She stopped in amazement at least 30 times to admire rocks and we collected 13 rocks for her rock collection. She has such an excitable, creative mind.  I love that she sees beauty and amazement in rocks. I love Mom/Daughter time.

Wow, I ran 30 miles last week!  I think I'll shoot for 35 this week.  Got a head start this morning.  Spring in Boulder this year went from snowy and icy to all of the sudden summertime heat!
