Took a solid 5 miles to warm up but the second half of the run felt pretty good.  Its supposed to get up to 98 degrees today.  I got in an hour of weeding in right when I got back from my run before the sun got too hot.  I keep trying to hack away the loads of weeds in our yard but I have a hard time staying on top of it.  If I do 30 minutes to an hour twice a week it stays somewhat under control but I don't always find the motivation to do that.  I wouldn't say I have the prettiest yard, but at least my garden is thriving and I'm looking forward to fresh veggies in a couple of months.

I have weeds but no garden. I need to get my boys to attack the weeds. But I'll have to pay them.

Phew I just finished weeding for another 3 hours. The weather cooled off around 5 p.m. so I could get it done without overheating. Now I'm pretty much on top of it and just need to spray Round-Up everywhere and commit a maintenance plan so it doesn't get out of control again. I also want to dig up and dispose of a few ugly bush/tree looking things and figure out what to put in their place. Yard work is never done.

Oh and thanks for noticing the mileage, Allie. With tomorrow's workout it'll be my first 70 mile week ever. It has actually been quite bearable. Of course I have taken naps three different days and gotten decent sleep at night too, so that helps.

The plan is to stay between 60-70 all summer. Coach D would love to see me do closer to 80 if I can but I'm not willing.
