Nice hilly run above Mom's house.  Lots of stretching and foam roller afterwards.  Hip feels okay, little tight.

Camping in Tanner's flat campground below Snowbird.  Rode up to Alta, then all the way back down the canyon, then back up to the campground.  Took me an hour and a half.  16 miles of steep hilliness.

Hip pretty sore after the strenuous biking yesterday.  Hiked with the kids today.

Don't know my mileage since I haven't been running with a Garmin for a few weeks now.  I think it may have been close to 5 miles. Ran up to Snowbird and back.  Then I biked probably 30 miles or so from our Tanner's flat campground to Ashley's house in North Salt Lake.  Went along Wasatch Blvd up to the University of Utah and then down through the avenues to Highway 89.  Took me a couple of hours.  I thought of Allie as I crossed Sunnyside Blvd.

Aaron and I took the kids to my Sister's house and went to lunch with my Grandma who has just moved into an assisted living home.  It was nice to visit with her (even if some of what she said was repetitive) and play cards with her.  She is such a sweet, wise, confident woman who has been a huge influence throughout my life.  Every time I see her she reminds me how I used to cuddle with her after her husband (my Grandpa) died when I was one year old.  She also reminds me that I was born saying "Me do myself!" And she has the same sort of attitude in life.  Its a little hard to see her depending so much on others for her basic needs and slowing down so much, but she still has the same happy spirit and is always a joy to be with.

After our four hour visit flew by, we went back to my Sister's house in Roy to get the kids and I went on a bike ride with my sister.  She went out with me for almost an hour but had to turn around and head home while I rode the Legacy trail all the way back to Aaron's sister's home in NSL, probably about 30 miles in all.

Aaron and I woke Abe and Breanne up early to run their first 5K.  My sister, Jen as well as Allie and James came to the race as well.  Aaron barefooted it next to Abe (6) who did a fabulous job pacing himself and breathing through a sideache. Allie and I ran next to Breanne (5) who jogged pretty well for a while until about half way through the race when we were approaching my sister-in-law, Ashley's house and I asked Bre if she wanted to grab her bike for the second half of the race.  She did, of course and swiftly flew off to the finish line while Allie and I ran the rest of the way in.  Abe pushed on through and finished in 34:30 for his first 5K!  I guess we'll have to try another day to pace Breanne through an entire 5K, but she sure had fun in her first unofficial duathalon! It was nice seeing Allie and James...oh and James won the race, of course.  ;)

Later that day....Aaron and I couldn't resist running the Elephant Rock trail in Mueller Park.  Its the trail where my brothers used to take me mountain biking all the time when I was younger. And I hiked it many times with my family as I was growing up too.  Beautiful!
