The good thing about the heavy winds we have had for the past 24 hours is that I no longer have to rake my front lawn.  The not so good thing is that we have to call someone to remove the uprooted tree in our backyard.

This morning I packed/organized for a few hours before going to the gym and "riding" the elliptical for an hour.   On the way back home I dropped off NINE garbage bags full of clothing/shoes that we no longer need/wear in a clothing donation dumpster.  The label on the dumpster said the clothes will go to support the Colorado sled hockey team (kids with disabilities playing hockey on sleds).

I have to wonder WHY in the WORLD we've been toting around NINE bags worth of extra clothing that we never wear or need???  These are clothes and shoes we've owned for YEARS and have probably followed us through three to five moves, yet for some reason we've hung onto them.  It takes moving into a house with very little closet space and no space in the master bedroom for a dresser to finally snap us into the "shed" mindset.  It sure feels good to have a much more manageable amount of clothing lined up in my closet though!

Now back to packing.....

Where did the rest of your post go? Anyway, I expect a phone call about that tree. Remember, I said whatever you need, even tree removal. :P

Haha, right after I posted it I decided my post was far too long and boring, so I cut and paste it into my personal journal instead. No one cares about all those nitty gritty details.

So were the nine bags yours and Aaron's or the kids too? I need to move so I can get rid of all the extra baggage I've been lugging around for nine years.

where in Boulder are you moving? My brother lives on Evans drive. Now it will be a lot easier for us to run together when we come to Boulder to visit, and Aaron can try to convert me to trail running. Personally I would gladly move to Boulder if (a) I could get a position at CU (b) afford to live there and (c) convince the kids to leave Cache Valley. Probably zero of three of the above will align so it looks like we will stay where we are.

Melody-Yeah the 9 bags were just from Aaron and Me. I am not quite ready to ditch the kid clothing yet as there is probably still more kids in our future.

Scott-Looks like your bro is 1.5 miles by running path, 3 miles by car. Everything in Boulder is closer "by path." Haha. But yeah, definitely call us when you're in town so we can run with ya!

good luck with the move and the exciting changes for you and your family. sounds like there are a lot of great opportunities headed your way.

I love those paths, and the kids too. we bring all our bikes when we go to Boulder and just ride everywhere. who needs a car in Boulder? too bad Utah cities can't be that progressive. huge difference in the Boulder vs. Logan/SLC mindsets! which is why I wouldn't mind moving there...
