6 miles in 8:15 pace

Stopped to stretch twice to loosen the hip.  Trying my best to listen to what the hip is telling me.  Seems to be agreeable at a slow pace.  Doesn't get more aggravated as long as I keep the pace above 8 min/mile.  In fact I think the hip felt about 1.6% better today compared to yesterday.

Last week I couldn't find my ipod for a few days.  Then as I was folding laundry I felt something clumpy in the pocket of a jersey I had run in at the gym.  Ipods don't really like being washed and dried with laundry.  Its dead now.  I know I could buy a $10 ipod replica from China on Ebay but I am actually really enjoying the peace and quiet of my runs lately.  I hear enough noise all day from my kids.  Its kinda nice to just listen to birds chirping and my own breathing and heart beating.  Leaves me in a very peaceful mood.

Our forecast says we'll be in the 50s for a few days this week.  Time to get the kids out to the park and go on bike rides in the sunshine!

R.I.P. sweet IPOD.

Nice run, Nan. I need to put my ipod away too. I don't usually train with it unless I'm going alone, but I am addicted to racing with it. Maybe I should accidentally leave it in my running jacket...

You're in luck Nan. allie's renting out her IPOD. Really cheap.

My son's ipod went through the wash awhile ago. It died too.

I'm glad you're enjoying some peaceful and quiet slow(ish) runs.

It's so great to read you are running! Sorry about the Ipod. I'm not that tough to run without one. I guess I need something to distract me!

Nice peaceful run Nan! It is going to be in the 50's this week too and I am looking forward to stroller running! I wonder if Vanessa will like it this year as well as she did last year...

Melody-Thats funny, I've never raced with music, I just like it on training runs sometimes.

Allie-I have to be very precise in my healing measurements because I am SO sick of the repeated crippling limp walk. Cramps my style.

Burt-Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I could handle Allie's alternative punk rock style. Guster, The Killers, and who knows what other annoying screechy noise she's got on there. I'd much rather borrow your 80s soft rock mix. Do you have Foreigner on there? They are so HOT right now.

Carolyn-And you've told him time and time again to empty his pockets before putting clothes in the dirty clothes hamper! Sheesh. Kids (and me) these days.

Julie & Toby-Its the new trend, quiet running. Ipods are so last year.

Put your ipod in the oven at the lowest temp possible overnight. Then charge it, and you may resurrect the thing.
